Hi, I’m Emma. I graduated in 2012 with a degree in Communications and Political Science, and since then I have been trying to figure out life as a functioning adult (any tips are appreciated). Late in 2014, I started a process of reevaluating my wasteful and consumer-driven existence. After doing some research, I discovered a whole bunch of great eco-friendly companies and organisations, many of which are based right here in New Zealand. I learnt about the things that I should have been doing in order to live more sustainably, and found myself thinking about how other people could benefit from this knowledge. It became my personal mission to establish a social platform where people could share and contribute eco-conscious ideas. As the idea progressed, I managed to find a team of amazing people who shared the same passion and wanted to be on board. I am eternally grateful to William, Emma, James and Poppy for their enthusiasm and support!

William Duignan Graphic Design

Hello, I’m William Duignan! A Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Typographer living in Wellington, New Zealand. I graduated with a Bachelor of Design (in Visual Communication) at CPIT (Christchurch Polytech Institute of Technology) in 2009. I’m best known for stachskatchewan.tumblr.com, a desktop wallpaper blog, where I created free to download, illustrated artwork, daily from 2010-2012. Since moving up to Wellington, I have created all sorts of work, from poster illustrations, to website designs, solo painting exhibitions to design for theatre. However, my favourite work lies in branding small businesses. I’m so excited to be involved with Use Good Stuff. You won’t believe what’s to come!

Hey, I’m Emma but most of my friends call me E Cus. I am an actor and an improviser based in Christchurch. I love juggling, baking and rapping along to Jay Z tracks at parties, but my passion is growing my own fruit and vegetables. I started getting serious about gardening in 2013 when I was between jobs and I haven’t looked back. It started pretty simple; my mum and I had been watching a lot of Food TV and I became quietly obsessed with River Cottage. Suddenly we were planning ahead for our harvest and investing in fruit trees for our back yard. I believe growing your own food is good for the soul, as well as a way to support a healthy diet and an enviro-friendly lifestyle. Plus it’s pretty hip and cool. #gardenswag

Hullo, I’m Poppy! I am a 21 year old aspiring actor and environmental activist (think Lucy Lawless) with a BA in English and Political Science. I love food and sleeping under the stars. I enjoy listening to audiobooks while in the garden or out walking. Second hand shopping is one of my current obsessions. I will be contributing to the Zero Waste section of this project. I am currently working towards living a life without producing rubbish and I am passionate about sharing my journey and ideas with you! I am super excited to see people take an interest in the impact that their actions have on the environment, as well as how their lives can be improved by living sustainably.
